Time vs. Money in getting my album 'Shimmer' reviewed. Week 6

I'm looking for online blogs that do album reviews since making my shiny new disc 'Shimmer'. One must have someone other than self, friends or family make good, bad or indifferent comments to fully vet the new album and generate quotes for the press kit. Soooooo.

I set out to find sites and blogs that will review my album, an alt-country, singer-songwriter offering and come up with .... 3. At first I think I need to dig deeper, but then I realize I'm in a relatively small genre and I need to open my horizons to country etc...

I find more of course, after several hours of google searches and stumbling upon links. Then I realize there are review services. Including one by my online publicity guru Ariel Hyatt, through my favourite online CD store, CD Baby. And I think.... 'Lindsay, check this out'.

I should explain... in order to get reviewed by an online blog, Ariel Hyatt suggests getting to know the blogger, engaging them and building a personal relationship. Makes sense of course. But how long is this going to take because I'm in a hurry? I'll definitely keep at a few of them, but if I have to comment etc for months to maybe get a review, I'm not sure I'm any further ahead. The bonus of following good blogs even if I don't get reviewed is learning about all the other cool new artists. That I love, so don't get me wrong, not all is lost. But...

One of the reason's I have limited time, is that I'm doing the publicity, radio tracking, band leading, practising etc for my upcoming CD release and tour. I still have to work to keep a roof over my head and ultimately there are only so many hours in a day. I'm fighting a bad cough/cold now and need to rest/sleep as much as possible... so guess what... I'm signing up for the review service. Unless of course you'd like to review me and leave a comment below?!?! Ha ha... no seriously.....
